n/p: Concrete Alligator Press, 2016. Limited First Edition. Softcover. Book & postcard signed by Ned Mudd. "Ned Mudd is a regular contributor to the Canyon Country Zephyr, an ex officio member of the Kevorkian Skull Poets, and the translator of Zen poet JiBo, author of When Thirsty, Drink Green Tea. He currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama." (biographical note following poems) A booklet of evocative, witty & memorable poems by Ned Mudd, a somewhat elusive southern American poet. A handsome little production, with many well-composed, puzzling & vaguely disturbing photographs by Ludlow (who apparently goes by one name) throughout. On the title page, which includes a choice quote of Gary Snyder, Mudd has hand-written his signature. Also, the limitation "7/100" is hand-written near lower right corner. Also included loosely is a postcard with a color image by Ludlow of a tea or coffee cup with a provocative crimson lipstick mark on its rim on recto, & the poem "The Paradox," attributed to Ludlow, on verso. Below Ludlow's printed name, Mudd has again hand-written his signature. Are they the same person? A rewarding if enigmatic Mudd-Ludlow collectible, scarce & with delightful ephemera. Book in very fine condition with only a bit of wear & few tiny bumps at edges & corners of front, back covers & spine; miniscule bumps at corners of a few page leaves; otherwise all-but-mint inside & out. Ephemera very fine on thick card stock, substantially mint. Very Fine. [Item #3865]
