Broadside: "Cosmopolitan Greetings"

Louisville, KY: White Fields Press/ The Literary Renaissance, 1994. First Printing. Single Sheet. "Stand up against governments, against God./ Stay irresponsible./ Say only what we know & imagine./ Absolutes are coercion./ Change is absolute." (first five lines) A large broadside (appx. 15" x 34&7/8") with the much-published title poem by Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997), Founding Father of the Beat Generation. Subtitled "To Struga Festival Golden Wreath Laureates & International Bards 1986," this poem was featured in the eponymous collection first published the following year (1995). With reproduction of a multi-image self-portrait photograph taken by Ginsberg facing the bathroom mirror. A bold, beautiful production of Ron Whitehead & Kent Fielding's White Fields Press/ The Literary Renaissance, the imprint-series devoted to "Supporting a global literary community," designated as No. 8 in its "Published in Heaven" series (of particular significance here as it nods to Ginsberg's famous dedication to "Howl"). First printing of unknown limitation. See Morgan, AA42, pg. 95. A prime later Ginsberg collectible, in very fine condition with only a bit of wear & a few tiny bumps at edges & corners; some small, barely discernable, faint horizontal creases at left edge & margins. Will be shipped carefully rolled in a tube. This item cannot be sent by Media Mail, so extra shipping & handling charges are required. Very Fine. [Item #3891]
