Crowe, the acclaimed poet & publisher, was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s. In our book, Starting From San Francisco (item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075), Crowe discusses at some length his enthusiasm for Yvan Goll & the initial interest of James Laughlin (who was a friend of Yvan) to publish this book with his iconic New Directions imprint (see esp. pgs. 195-197). With frontispiece & many interior reproductions of drawings by the iconic artist Marc Chagall, among the Golls' many celebrated acquaintances & collaborators. A beautiful little production, softcover original, first edition as stated on copyright page. On the title page, Crowe has hand-written his signature below his printed name.
