Divided into three sections, the poems evoke nature & venerable Americana including references to cowboys, Mark Twain & Walt Whitman. Trade-format softcover original. Between last contents page & title page of first section, there is a small loose sheet on which is copied one of the poems ("1836. In the Cherokee Overhills.", pg. 9). A simple, handsome production; & an important Knauth collectible. In fine condition with only slight rubbing, browning, wear & a few tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners of front, back covers & spine; light spotting to edges of text block. Interior fine with slight loosening of glue binding at lower spine area; tiny bumps, creases at corners of some page leaves. Fine. [Item #3953]
