Advertised as featuring “…an excerpt from the “Lost Chapter” of Naked Lunch,” this issue also contains work by San Francisco gay literary pioneer James Broughton; East Coast Surrealist Andrei Codrescu; Anselm Hollo; the late Joanne Kyger and much more. Considering the time of publication, one would estimate that material from this “lost chapter” of Naked Lunch was taken from the “Interzone” “word hoard,” and likely among the material that ended up in the essential 1989 publication of the same name. Among the “Contributing Editors” to this volume is our good friend and fellow Burroughsian, Jim McCrary, key “lieutenant” of James Grauerholz over in “Burroughsland,” (the final residence of WSB in Lawrence, Kansas—helmed by the encyclopedic Grauerholz to this day).
