Buffalo, NY: Sunnyoutside, 2010. Limited First Edition. Sewn Wrappers. Signed by Thomas Rain Crowe. "The Brucciano Poems, what the author says belongs to the genre of travel poem, is the record of a summer spent in a small village high in the Italian Alps- "far from home, yet home," as (Thomas Rain) Crowe refers to it. These, then, are poems taken from the sheaf of his daily exercise at a window desk looking out over the Alpi Apuane in an attempt at painting a poetic picture of these halcyon days abroad as a stranger in a new land." (back cover) A collection of poems by Thomas Rain Crowe, the acclaimed & prolific poet & publisher who was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s (see our book, Starting From San Francisco, Item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075). Crowe has been a true "Renaissance Man" based in North Carolina since then, & as he notes in his introduction to this collection, it was inspired by his immersive visit to the enchanting village of Brucciano in the Tuscan Alps region of Italy during the summer of 2003 with his partner, Nan Watkins. An exquisite letterpress chapbook production in sewn wrappers, one of a first edition of 150 (un-numbered) copies as stated on copyright page. On the title page, just below his printed name, Crowe has hand-written his signature in bold blue ink. A most rare & desirable Crowe collectible. In very fine condition with only a few tiny bumps at edges & corners of front, back covers & sewn spine; tiny bumps at corners of some page leaves; otherwise substantially mint inside & out. Very Fine. [Item #4095]
