("A New Dress," first stanza, unpaginated) A collection of poems by Barbara Reimensnyder Duncan, a Native American educator, folklorist & musician. The settings & inspirations of these evocative poems are the mountains of western North Carolina, where Duncan has lived & worked for many years. Chapbook in stapled wrappers with attached over-wraps, front cover color photograph of this mountainous region by Duncan. A beautiful production of New Native Press, part of its Stewardship Series as listed on inner front cover of inner front wrap. NNP is the imprint of Thomas Rain Crowe, the acclaimed poet & publisher who was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s (see our book, Starting From San Francisco, Item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075). Crowe also lives in & is very devoted to rural North Carolina & its Native heritage. Per colophon, this copy is from a limited edition of 200 published during the fall of 2008, of which 50 copies were numbered & signed by Duncan. This copy is from the 150 that are not numbered or signed by Duncan, but on the copyright page, next to & below reference to himself & NNP, Crowe has hand-signed his name in bold blue ink. A rewarding Duncan collectible, with publisher's association & provenance. In very fine condition with only very slight rubbing & sparse spotting to front, back covers, spine & flaps of attached over-wraps; a few tiny bumps, creases at thin edges & corners of same. Interior very fine with only slight rusting of staples at middle with miniscule bleeding; mild spotting at blank areas of middle two (stapled) pages; otherwise substantially mint. Very Fine.
