Paris, France: Les Editions Aux Forges de Vulcain, 2013. Second French Edition. Softcover. Signed by Thomas Rain Crowe. First published in 2007 as "A House of Girls," this edition was published in France & translated from English into the French language by Antoine Bargel. A beautiful, exemplary softcover original production, second edition of 2013 (first edition published during 2011) as noted on copyright page. With front cover color reproduction of a photograph taken at the legendary 1969 Woodstock music festival by Elliott Landy. On the title page, just below his printed name, Crowe has hand-written his signature in bold blue ink. The back-cover copy of the original English-language version of this work (see our Item No. 4213) states: "In this linked-stories, coming-of-age book of autobiographical fiction, we see and hear echoes of great writers in this (Bildungsroman) tradition, such as Goethe, Joyce, Novalis, Dickens and Thomas Mann. Crowe's "house" and his "girls" are what has formed him, and we follow him from room to room in these sensitive and engaging love stories, all of which have an unusual and unique twist." A rare version of this splendid Crowe collectible for the French-literate collector, signed by him & from his own library. In very fine condition with only a bit of rubbing & scratching to front, back covers & spine; a few tiny bumps at edges & corners of same; very light spotting to upper edge of text block. Interior very fine with only miniscule bumps at lower corners of a few page leaves; otherwise substantially mint. Very Fine. [Item #4228]
