Cullowhee, NC: New Native Press, n/d (Circa 1980s-1990s). First Editions. Single Sheets; Folded Sheet. "May It Continue" Broadside signed by Thomas Rain Crowe. We present the third & final bundled offering of rare broadsides by Thomas Rain Crowe, the acclaimed poet & publisher who was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s (see our book, Starting From San Francisco, Item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075), topped off with some very interesting ephemera: (1) "May It Continue" (appx. 5&1/2" x 8&1/2" folded, 11" x 17" unfolded), single sheet folded into four panels/ eight sides with printing on four sides (recto) only. On the front title panel folded, Crowe has hand-written his signature in bold blue ink at blank lower margin. No publisher, place or date as with all broadsides through (6) below, all presumed to have been published by Crowe's New Native Press imprint altogether appx. during 1980-2000. Printed on (or copied onto?) glossy-matte paper stock. (2) "Deep language" (appx. 8&1/2" x 14"), with the title poem below reproduction of illustration by Barbara Ann Carver-Hunt ("The Storyteller"), sides with medallion-illustrations presumably also by Carver-Hunt. Printed on light grey-beige, lightly speckled thick paper stock. (3) "Going Home" (appx. 8&1/4" x 10&1/2"), with the title poem printed on off-white, slightly textured thick paper stock. (4) "The Perfect Work" (appx. 8&1/2" x 11"), with the title poem printed on white, slightly textured paper stock. (6) "What Is Woven" (appx. 8&1/2" x 10&1/2") with the title poem printed on handmade, lightly speckled & textured paper with slightly irregular lower edge as issued. (7) Ephemera: (a) Flyer for reading event "Against Information: new music & poetry for the 90s/ at the green door gallery" (Asheville, NC) featuring Crowe along with John Lane (whose collection Against Information would be published by NNP in 1994), Ted Pope, Nan Watkins (Crowe's partner) et al., held on May 14 of unknown year. Featuring reproductions of what appear to be woodcut illustrations, uncredited. (b) Oblong card (appx. 3&1/4 x 9") with untitled poem ("How easily the old table moves to the/...") next to a quote of G.I. Gurdjieff with background cursive word "Levitation" also repeated black-on-black on verso. Printed on card stock. (c) four "slicks" (publisher's mattes with front, back covers & spine printed on single card-stock sheet) for NNP Crowe productions New Native (1993), The Personified Street (1993), Water From the Moon (1993) & Wineseller's Street: Renderings of Hafez (1998). All but the latter are appx. 12&1/2" x 9&1/2"; Wineseller's Street appx. 11" x 8&1/2". Six broadsides & six pieces of miscellaneous ephemera by Crowe in one offering, all quite rare & desirable.
