And Other Stories: A Collection of 12 New Stories by John O'Hara

New York, NY: Random House, Inc., 1968. First Edition. Hardcover. "This volume contains twelve brilliant new stories, all written in the two years following the completion of Waiting for Winter (1966). One of them, "A Few Trips and Some Poetry," is a novel of medium length...The quality of And Other Stories- which contains some of the author's finest work- shows what a great amount of his energy and time has gone into it. But...in the first eight years of the 1960s he has already produced more and better work than most writers manage in a lifetime..." (from front flap) The final collection of stories published during the lifetime of John O'Hara (1905-1970), the great & prolific American novelist, critic & especially short story writer whose works have been canonized in the Library of America series. With a foreword by O'Hara followed by twelve of his late classic stories including the short novel mentioned above. Hardcover in unclipped first-issue dust jacket (with $5.95 price printed on front flap), first (trade) edition, first printing as stated on copyright page, issued simultaneously with a limited numbered & signed edition. An essential O'Hara collectible in its rarest original standard form.
