Original letter written & signed by Robert Crumb, limited edition print signed by Charles Plymell. Here we excitedly offer an original letter, beautifully written & signed by the legendary Robert Crumb (b. 1943) with his exemplary calligraphy in bold black ink on brown paper stock. The letter is dated "Groundhog Day 2018" (which was Friday, February 2 of that year), & refers to Crumb's address in rural France at upper right margin. The addressee-recipient of Crumb's letter is "Plymell," none other than our favorite Legendary Literary Outlaw Charles Plymell (b. 1935), the great writer, printer & publisher who famously printed the very first edition of Crumb's iconic Zap Comix No. 1 (see our Item No. 2164). The letter is signed "-R. Crumb" & is handsomely matted & framed under glass. Please see our image to read the complete text of this poignant letter from one Countercultural Giant to another. Along with & relating to the letter, we additionally offer a limited edition print of an illustration of Plymell by Crumb, dated "Feb., '18" & referred to at the beginning of the letter: "I took this old paper as a challenge...results enclosed..." The print is hand-signed by Plymell in black ink, & on verso is colophon noting a limitation of 200 copies, of which this is copy No. 117/200. Colophon also notes that this edition was printed by Bill Roberts (of the venerable Bottle of Smoke Press) & Ray Nicholas. An outstanding, one-of-a-kind Crumb collectible with most relevant & significant provenance; enriched with a related print of & signed by "Ol' Charlie/ by Ol' Crumb."
