This vintage early 1996 number of the magazine-format literary journal published & edited by Kevin Ring in the UK features a special section dedicated to the controversy over the estate of Jack Kerouac, including a lengthy interview of pioneering Kerouac biographer & bibliographer Ann Charters conducted by Daniel Barth; & a comprehensive article by Gerald Nicosia, Kerouac's outstanding critical biographer, which details his advocacy of Jan Kerouac in her disputes with her father's estate as controlled by his in-laws (Jan would pass away later that very year). Also in this issue: The second part of a descriptive discography of recordings by Allen Ginsberg by Jon Rogers; obituaries of then-recently deceased Jerry Garcia by Todd Bauer & Terry Southern by Jim Burns; an interview/profile of Ken Kesey by Bauer & much more. With a robust section of contemporary reviews including of William S. Burroughs' Ghost of Chance by Ring; & as ever many illustrations & photographs throughout including images of Jan Kerouac on front cover & of Nelson Algren on back cover. A scarce, earlier treasure-trove in this indispensable series that always upholds its front cover motto, "This is the Beat Generation," & its assertion on contents page here that "There is No Other Life."
