Original Poster: "Rock Art by the Bay" (2006)

San Francisco, CA: The Rock Poster Society, 2006. First Edition. Single Sheet. Signed by artist/designer Dennis Loren. A poster (appx. 12&3/4" x 23") announcing "The Rock Poster Society/ Presents/ Rock Art/ By the Bay," an exhibit held at Fort Mason in San Francisco during June 25, 2006, "For the Benefit of David Singer" (possibly the late comic publisher, 1957-2013). The acclaimed Detroit-born American poster & album cover artist-designer Dennis Loren (b. 1946) created the artwork & graphics reproduced here, & "Poster Design (c) 2006 by Dennis Loren" is found at red background between upper & lower bordered images. Just below sentence including the above, Loren has hand-written his signature in bold black ink (see image). The roster herein of poster artists includes such masters of the original psychedelic 1960s era as Alton Kelley (1940-2008, known as "Kelley"), Stanley Mouse (b. Stanley George Miller, 1940) & Loren himself; as well as many other veteran & more recent figures. The colors & style of this poster are a celebratory & exuberant evocation of that fabled time & place- San Francisco in the 1960s, when now-classic posters announced concerts by Bill Graham at the Fillmore & The Family Dog at the Avalon Ballroom (see our many such vintage posters in our New Arrivals dept. & by placing "original concert poster" into our search engine). First edition, presumed first (& likely only) printing. A superb production that well-carries the torch of rock poster art at its most original & dazzling. In very fine condition with only a few tiny bumps, creases at lower edge; otherwise substantially mint.
