[Item #6084] Film Presentations Pamphlet (1928). Rialto Theatre.

Film Presentations Pamphlet (1928)

Washington DC: Realto Theatre, 1928. First Printing. Folded Sheet. A vintage pamphlet announcing a "Gala Revival Week of / Screen Classics" at the Rialto Theatre in Washington, DC during the week of June 30-July 6, 1928 (the year is not mentioned but is verified by our source). Among the films noted & with illustrations are "The Mark of Zorro" starring Douglas Fairbanks (Sr.); "Orphans of the Storm," directed by D.W. Griffith & starring Dorothy & Lillian Gish; "Tess of the Storm Country" starring Mary Pickford; & "Robin Hood" with Fairbanks. Single sheet (appx. 10" x 7&3/4" unfolded) formerly folded once each horizontally & vertically, printed on both sides. A rare & charming relic of the silent film era as it was dawning into sound productions & these films were already regarded as "classics," though they were mostly made during the roaring-twenties decade of this "Gala Revival" event. In relatively quite fine condition after nearly a century, with mild rubbing, very slight browning, light scratching, faint creasing & occasional light spot-staining to surfaces esp. at/near creases of former folds; light wear & some tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners. Fine. [Item #6084]
