The first separate edition of an early work of fiction by Thomas Pynchon first published in the Kenyon Review, (Vol. 22, No. 2), in 1960. This appears to be an unauthorized edition, with the name of the publisher taken from a term for a sinister code-system in Pynchon's second novel, The Crying of Lot 49. Aloes books in London, UK may be behind this as it was for a series of similar separate editions of early short Pynchon pieces. This may be the first separate edition or a reprint, we cannot definitely determine. In any case it is an unusual collectible for the Pynchon completist, in very fine condition, virtually mint, with only very mild creasing at upper corners of front cover. Very Fine. [Item #1830]
