[Item #1857] Scenes from East Hill Farm. Gordon Ball, Allen Ginsberg.

Scenes from East Hill Farm

Coventry, England: The Beat Scene Press, 2007. Limited First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. Signed by author Gordon Ball. This is Number 13 in The Beat Scene Press Pocket Book Series published by Kevin Ring in the UK. The author, Gordon Ball, is a photographer & filmmaker who was a friend & associate of Allen Ginsberg & other Beat Generation literary lights (he was even portentously born in Paterson, NJ, also Ginsberg's birthplace...). This chapbook contains excerpts from what would be published seven years later as a full-length book of the same title, a memoir of his experiences at Ginsberg's farm near Cherry Valley, NY & elsewhere during the late 1960s-early 1970s. Ginsberg, his companion Peter Orlovsky & other well-known figures make appearances & share adventures with Ball. Among a distinguished series of limited editions, this one is very special: It is one of only ten lettered copies (out of a total edition of 135) released in October, 2007, and is copy "A." It is also signed by the author on the second front cover (this lettered edition has a card-stock front cover, over endpaper, then another identical front cover on paper stock). A unique, truly first-among-first edition, already a rarity in this series which all its numbers are destined for. In as-new, mint condition. As new. [Item #1857]
