Further Adventures of those Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers

San Francisco, CA: The Rip Off Press, 1972. Second Printing. Stapled Wrappers. The second number of the series by Gilbert Shelton devoted to the adventures of the lovable trio of dope-heads, among the most famous emblems of the underground comix counterculture. Written & mostly illustrated by Shelton, with contributions of episodes drawn by Bobby London, Ted Richards & Dave Sheridan. The dizzying epitome of stoned humor. This is the second printing to the best of our knowledge, based on the latest, occasionally contradictory comix scholarship, indicated by blue background of inner front cover illustration; & an ad for "Free Funnies" on forty-ninth (unpaginated) page. A classic Comix collectible, in not the rarest but still a very rare & early form. For adult Freak Fans only. In relatively near-fine condition, approximately equivalent to a 5.5 grade per Fogel's, CGC, etc.: Mild rubbing, creasing & discoloration of front, back covers; approx. 1" closed tear at upper spine corner of front cover; light crease along length of spine; tiny hole-tears at staple corners. Interior fine except for browning of just-above-newspaper quality pages esp. margins & edges; but pages not brittle & with only very light acidic scent. Near Fine. [Item #2219]
