[Item #2533] The Mexican Night. Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
The Mexican Night

The Mexican Night

New York, NY: New Directions Publishing, 1970. First Softcover Edition. Softcover. "The Mexican Night" is the first of what would become several travel journals published throughout the course of the poet's lifetime. Ferlinghetti's nonfiction works are essential reads for any student or fan of the Beat Generation/San Francisco Renaissance, as they give a factual, autobiographical voice to a man who has so staunchly decried and avoided the notion of penning an autobiography. As such, they are indispensable--but this collection also includes new poems and drawings taken from the author's notebooks. In exceptionally very fine condition with only the slightest rubbing to laminated front, back covers and spine; moderate browning of back cover; small, faint wave-crease at lower right corner of front cover extending through page leaves and lower left corner of back cover. Interior very fine except as noted above, and light browning of page leaves esp. at margins and edges. Very Fine. [Item #2533]
