[Item #2796] Heroin. Clive Matson.

Heroin

Berkeley, CA: Neon Sun, 1972. First Edition. Softcover. A short, early collection of poems by Clive Matson, the esteemed poet-educator who was initiated into the Beat Generation during the early 1960s in NYC. The title of the volume is the theme of all its haunting, unforgettable poems: addiction, its consequences, aftermath & recovery therefrom; based on the poet's own experiences & observations. With front cover & many interior illustrations by David Kelso. A beautiful production in purple wrappers with sewn binding that somehow enhances the intense content, printed & bound by Matson himself according to our sources. A key Matson collectible, in very fine condition with only browning/sunning to thin edges of front, back covers & entire spine; tiny bits of wear & bumps at edges & corners of same. Interior with only the tiniest bumps to corners of page leaves; otherwise substantially mint. Very Fine. [Item #2796]
