This number of the 1980s era-contemporary literary journal published in our own Ann Arbor, Michigan features three poems by the renowned Bill Berkson (1939-2016) including "In a Hand Not My Own"; five poems by the Finnish-born poet Anselm Hollo (1934-2013) including "0600 Hours" & "The Missing Page" & an untitled poem by Deep Image master Robert Kelly. Also with contributions by Mike Boughn, Laura Chester, Gloria Frym, David C.D. Gansz (also a contributing editor) & others. With artful photographs of sculptures by Ralph Gionta on front & back covers, notes on contributors, etc. Also included in this offering is a single folded sheet on thick paper stock with front, back covers & spine of this issue printed on glossy recto. Size of sheet & therefore blank margins slightly larger than covers & spine of the issue. Loosely folded therein are one single sheet & two stapled two-sheet sets of copied contents, copyright & contributor note pages for this & two other issues of NOVUS (Vol. 1 No. 1 & Vol. 2 No. 1). This appears to be a publisher's promotional item or a portion thereof. A varied & significant issue in this collectible series, enriched by desirable ephemera. Journal in very fine condition with only tiny bumps at corners of front, back covers; very mild creasing & wear at upper & lower spine-edges; one light horizontal crease across blank upper area of spine; tiny amount of spotting/light smudging at upper & lower edges of text block. Interior very fine, virtually mint. Ephemera in fine condition with lightest wear & some short, faint creases on recto (verso is blank as with endpapers of issue) of folded sheet; small, mild creases & bumps at & near all corners of same. Inserts of copied pages in very fine condition with only a few short, faint creases & bumps at upper right corners; miniscule spots of rust near staples, which themselves appear not to be rusted.
