The poems are divided into two sections, & relate to the midwestern-born Koller's sojourn in the title state through the decade of the 1960s. He knew the great Beat Generation- San Francisco Renaissance poets & collaborated with them and published some of their works, but his own style here & throughout his long, prolific career is quite unique to himself. This is the first trade edition, an early, exemplary Black Sparrow production limited to 800 copies as noted on colophon. A key Koller collectible, & an excellent working copy. In very fine condition with only very slight rubbing & scratching to front, back covers & spine; light wear & a few small, faint creases & bumps at edges & corners of same; mild fading of cover margins & esp. spine; mild-to-moderate browning & sparse spotting to edges of text block.
