Cherry Valley, NY: Cherry Valley Editions, 1979. First Printing. Stapled Wrappers. A scarce number of the literary review journal published during the 1970s-1980s by Cherry Valley Editions, the imprint of legendary literary outlaws Charles Plymell & his wife Pamela Beach Plymell. This issue is edited by Pamela, & among those listed as "European Editors" on copyright (& first review) page is the late Carl Weissner, the German author who collaborated with & translated works by William S. Burroughs. Associate editors Hugh Fox & Brown Miller contribute several reviews of contemporary independent publications; & Gerald Dorset reviews two authors published by Cherry Valley Editions, Paul Grillo & Roxy Powell. There is an informative, relevant article entitled "Selling Small Press to the Public Library" by Leonard Kniffel, then librarian & publisher at the Detroit Public Library & Fallen Angel Press respectively; & much more. Chapbook-format magazine in stapled wrappers. An especially rare, collectible issue of this important series. We deem this to be in near-fine condition due mainly to a series of chips & holes at-near upper edge of front cover with very slight loss of paper. Otherwise in fine condition with only mild rubbing, browning & occasional spotting esp. at-near edges of front, back covers & stapled spine; staples beginning to rust with minimal bleeding at interior divide; light browning & a few tiny spots at edges of text block. Interior fine with only staple-rust bleeding noted above; tiny bumps, creases at corners of a few page leaves; slight damage to upper edge of inner front cover noted above; very slight browning & spotting at upper & side edges of first few page leaves. Near Fine. [Item #3302]
