This number of the venerable poetry journal founded in 1912 & chiefly edited by Daryl Hine features the lengthy, exemplary poem "Smudging" by Diane Wakoski, the acclaimed & prolific poet who has long resided in Michigan. Next to the title of the poem on page 351, Wakoski has hand-written her signature with characterstic series of vertical doodles. Also in this issue are contributions by Jon Anderson (no relation to the great Rock vocalist that we know of), Joseph Bennett, Kathleen Spivack & many others. With critical commentaries; contemporary ads for publications &, on back cover, a reading event; notes on contributors etc. A very rare & desirable issue in this most collectible series, especially with the signature of one of its most distinguished poets at her contribution. In very fine condition with only lightest rubbing & fading esp. at/near edges of front, back covers & spine; very light wear & a few tiny bumps, faint creases at edges & corners of same; just a bit of light browning & spotting at edges of text block.
