Chicago, IL: Modern Poetry Association, 1977. First Printing. Softcover. Signed by Diane Wakoski. This number of the venerable poetry journal founded in 1912 & chiefly edited by Daryl Hine commences with three poems by Diane Wakoski, the acclaimed & prolific Beat-influenced poet originally associated with the Deep Image school who has long resided here in Michigan. At the beginning of the first poem, "The Ring," next to printed title, Wakoski has hand-signed her name with characteristic series of vertical doodles (first pg. 125). Also contributions of poetry by Doug Abrams, Allan Gray, Mark Jarman & others. With reviews (including by Arthur Oberg, who is memorialized on inner back cover), books received, notes on contributors, contemporary ads. Artwork wrapped around covers & spine by Anita Davies. A rare & desirable issue in this collectible series, especially with the signature of the distinguished Wakoski at the first of her three contributions. In fine condition with only mild rubbing to front, back covers & spine; mild wear & a few tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners of same; small area with creasing, bumping & slight paper loss at upper edges, corners of spine & covers.
