The Name Book

Madison, WI: The Landlocked Press, 1984. Limited First Edition. Sewn Wrappers. Signed by Joe Napora. A large chapbook of poems by Joe Napora, the passionate & prolific American poet, editor, publisher & activist. With seven evocative, provocative poems & several beautiful illustrations by Katherine Kuehn (frontispiece & two-fold spread for "Topophilia"). The rather chatty colophon indicates that this is one of an edition that "...does not exceed two hundred & fifty." Colophon does not indicate this is a signed edition, but on copyright page opposite frontispiece, below the printed text, Napora has hand-written his signature in bold black ink. Large chapbook in "concertina" format with accordian-signature-sewn spine. We obtained this from the library of our good friend & mentor Thomas Rain Crowe, the acclaimed & prolific poet & publisher who was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco renaissance during the 1970s (see our book, Starting from San Francisco, item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075). A most rare & attractive hand-crafted production with provenance & association between two kindred literary spirits. In very fine condition with only a few tiny bumps, short creases at edges & corners of front & rear wrappers; mild spotting to upper edge of text block; otherwise virtually mint inside & out. Very Fine. [Item #3535]
