Bolinas, CA: Angel Hair Books, 1969. Limited First Edition. Sewn Wrappers. Signed by Tom Clark (twice) & Lewis Warsh. A large chapbook of poems by Tom Clark (1941-2018), the great poet, editor & biographer; in collaboration with Lewis Warsh, poet-polymath who at the time was married to NYC Beat-&-Beyond icon Anne Waldman. The book as a whole is dedicated to the writer Edwin Denby (1903-1983), & each poem is dedicated to a contemporary literary or cultural figure: Eldridge Cleaver, John Giorno, Anselm Hollo, John Ashbery & Andrei Codrescu. As noted on copyright page-colophon, this is one of 200 copies printed by the Grabhorn-Hoyem press of San Francisco, published by Warsh & Waldman's Angel Hair Books imprint. A beautiful handmade production in sewn wrappers. On copyright-colophon page, Clark & Warsh have hand-written their signatures, in bold pink & blue ink respectively, likely at or near time of original publication. Additionally, Clark has signed his name on title page in sharp red ink, probably at a later time. A prime collectible in the early Clark & Warsh oeuvres, especially with these signatures. In very fine condition with only slight rubbing, scratching & light, faint creasing to front, back covers & sewn spine; lightest wear & a few tiny bumps at edges & corners of same (naturally rough of handmade paper); very short, closed vertical tears, one each at upper edges, one at side edge of front cover. Interior very fine with only slight browning-rubbing to edges of page leaves; tiny bumps at corners of a few of same; occasional spotting at blank areas of some pages. Very Fine. [Item #3561]
