New York, NY: David R. Godine, 1985. First Softcover Edition. Softcover. Signed by Clayton Eshleman. This seventh number of the prestigious literary journal chiefly edited by Bradford Morrow features a special section of writer-to-writer interviews, including Robert Duncan with Michael McClure & Edmund White with Gilbert Sorrentino. The former pairing is of particular significance to the Third Mind collector, with two immortal (though sadly both gone temporally) icons of the Beat Generation, San Francisco Renaissance & beyond engaged in a deep dialogue. Also contributions of poetry & prose by Cid Corman, the legendary proprietor of the Origin magazine series; Clayton Eshleman, the acclaimed & prolific poet, editor & educator who resides near us here in Michigan; Nathaniel Tarn (also a contributing editor) & many others. On first contents page where his reference is located, at upper margin, Eshleman has hand-written his signature in bold black ink. With a portfolio of images of "New Furniture by Artists and Architects," reviews, notes on contributors, contemporary ads etc. Trade-format softcover, published simultaneously with a hardcover edition. A very important issue in this most collectible series, with the signature of one of its distinguished contributors. In very fine condition with only very light rubbing, occasional spotting & short, faint creasing to front, back covers & spine; mild wear & a few tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners of same; light, sparse spotting to edges of text block. Interior very fine with only tiny bumps at corners of a few page leaves. Very Fine. [Item #3602]
