A poem from 1956 by Robert Maynard (Bobi) Jones (1929-2017), an academician & among the most acclaimed & prolific writers in the original Welsh language. All text in Welsh. With a beautiful, familial woodcut illustration by Hilary Paynter. Chapbook in sewn wrappers with enveloping over-wrap, an exquisitely hand-crafted letterpress production. Below the Welsh-language colophon on rear flap-envelope is the hand-written No. 244. We have seen a British bookseller's reference to a total edition of 400. On blank rear endpaper is this sentence hand-written in pencil: "signed by all the Gregynog Press staff; 1995," with five signatures in varying black inks below it. From the collection of Thomas Rain Crowe, the noted poet & publisher who was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s (see our book, "Starting from San Francisco: The Baby Beat Generation and the Second San Francisco Renaissance," item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075). Crowe's many interests & areas of expertise include Welsh, Irish & Scottish literature, languages & cultures. A very rare & desirable Bobi Jones collectible with significant association & provenance. In very fine condition with only a bit of rubbing & faint scratching to front, back covers & spine of enveloping over-wrap; a few tiny bumps, creases at thin edges & corners of same & flap-envelopes. Interior very fine on handmade paper with slightly rough side & lower edges as produced; several very light, faint creases at blank surfaces of front endpaper/ first page leaf with watermark.
