Little Canto

San Francisco, CA: New College of California, 1991. Limited First Edition. Sewn Wrappers. "Orange harmonies/ bubbles resonant closed/ literal yarn beans electricity/ chatter angels" (first page) A chapbook with the title poem by Tom Clark (1941-2018), the great American poet, editor, novelist, biographer & artist. While Clark's poetry was originally associated mostly with the New York School, this mid-career work is very free-associative & reminds us of the cut-ups of William S. Burroughs (in its technique, if not the words selected...). Chapbook in sewn binding, a beautiful, hand-crafted production. Per colophon, this is one of an edition of only 100 copies printed at the New College of California in San Francisco during 1991. A very rare collectible in the vast, varied Clark canon. In very fine condition with only creasing & a few tiny bumps at thin upper edge & corners of front cover; otherwise substantially mint inside & out. Very Fine. [Item #3856]
