A beautiful production, one of only 25 copies handmade by Holden himself during December 2009 to celebrate Christmas (front cover notes "Christmas 2009"). This is hand-numbered copy No. 9/25. In addition to the signed original watercolor artwork that serves as a frontispiece, Holden has hand-written & signed on blank front endpaper: "To Nan/ &/ Thomas/ In thanks/ for our circle/ of light & song./ (signed) Laurence." "Thomas" is Thomas Rain Crowe, the noted poet & publisher who was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s (see our book, Starting From San Francisco, Item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075). "Nan" is Crowe's partner. An exceptionally attractive, most extremely rare Holden collectible that ingeniously combines visual art & poetry; with significant poet-to-poet provenance & association. In very fine condition with only a few tiny bumps & light, faint creases at thin edges & corners of front, back covers & sewn spine; light wear to spine.
