Ashland, KY: BullHead Books, 2017. First Edition. Sewn Wrappers. Signed by Joe Napora to Thomas Rain Crowe. "Wind writing a sand path/ Pebbles on the move/ worn in and out/ Eternity in a grain/ of the hand that/ feeds us" (fifth stanza, unpaginated) A chapbook with the title poem by Joe Napora, the passionate & prolific American poet, publisher, editor & activist. On front cover & opposite each page of text are reproductions of photographic artworks, presumably by Napora though not noted. The images appear to be treated birds-eye views of arid natural landscapes. A handsome production of Napora's own BullHead imprint in sewn wrappers. No copyright page or much information as with many of Napora's more recent publications, but there is a list of "Reference Points" preceding the poems & illustrations which appropriately includes none other than Charles Olson, our favorite "Maximus" poet of ultimate density, obscurity & allusion. On the title page, Napora has hand-written & signed: "For Thomas/ (drawing of compass-star)/ (signed) Joe." "Thomas" is Thomas Rain Crowe, the acclaimed poet & publisher who was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s (see our book, Starting From San Francisco, Item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075). Crowe & Napora are long-time close friends & kindred colleagues. A rare & desirable, albeit somewhat enigmatic, Napora collectible with important poet-to-poet association & provenance. In very fine condition with only a bit of rubbing to front, back covers & sewn spine; a few tiny bumps at edges & corners of same. Interior very fine with only miniscule bumps at corners of a few page leaves. Very Fine. [Item #4089]
