Cardiff, Wales: Second Aeon Publications, 1970. First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. A chapbook of poems in tribute to Jack Kerouac, published in Wales. This appears to us to be among the first, if not the very first, UK small press production following Kerouac's death in October 1969- there is a reference to "7.70" (July 1970) at page 1, & a copyright date of 1970 on page 2. Edited by Peter Finch (no relation we presume to the late British actor) & with contributions of poems by Finch, Robert Ensor, Kris Hemensley (in which Carl Solomon is quoted as the third stanza of Section I), Iain Sinclair, William Wantling & others well- & unknown. Also with an essay by John Rowan, & a portion of "Mexico City Blues" by Kerouac himself. With an illustration of Kerouac on front cover by Keith Trodden. We cannot find reference to this work in the bibliographies, even in Rod Anstee's bootleg compilation (see our Item No. 4682)- though with an apparent early ISBN number, we do not consider this a bootleg item. Chapbook in stapled wrappers, first edition, presumed first (& likely only) printing with no reference to further printings. A most rare & interesting collectible for the Kerouac scholar & completist. In very fine condition with only light rubbing to front, esp. back covers & stapled spine; a touch of wear & some tiny bumps, creases at thin edges & corners of same. Interior very fine with mild rubbing (almost certainly offset-ink or residue) at blank orange inner front cover; otherwise substantially mint. Very Fine. [Item #5021]
