This double-number of the literary journal published by students at Wright State University edited by Mark Owens & co-edited by the legendary Ira Cohen features an "Allen Ginsberg Memorial Issue" dedicated to the Founding Father of the Beat Generation-&-Beyond who passed away shortly before publication on April 5, 1997. With contributions of poetry in immediate reaction to Ginsberg's death as well as earlier Ginsberg-related poems by members/mentors of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance including Cohen, Cid Corman, Thomas Rain Crowe, Charles Henri Ford, Jack Hirschman, Jack Micheline, Joe Napora, Ken Wainio & many others; several essays on Ginsberg including by John Tytell, the great pioneering Beat biographer & our dear friend; & captioned historical photographs including one by Cohen of Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs (holding up a copy of his "The Seven Deadly Sins," see our item No. 2914) & Gregory Corso. Following/preceding the Ginsberg Memorial Issue in upside-down fashion is the regular issue, with poetry & reproductions of artworks by Cohen, Corman, Crowe, Ford, Hirschman, Tuli Kupferberg, Micheline, Napora & again many others. A particularly important double number in this most collectible series, especially for devotees of Ginsberg & the Baby Beats; with distinguished, relevant provenance. In fine condition with light rubbing, faint scratching & a touch of fading to front, back covers & spine; very slight wear & some tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners of same; a bit of rubbing to edges of text block; one very small, light spot-stain at upper edge of same near spine.
