San Francisco, CA: The Rock Poster Society, 2008. Single Sheet. Signed by artist Marq Spusta. This poster (appx. 12¾" x 17¼") announcing the 10th anniversary of the TRPS Festival of Rock Posters during October 11, 2008, was designed by artist Marq Spusta (b. 1977) and won a poster design contest of the Rock Poster Society (TRPS). TRPS is the planet’s largest organized group of rock poster collectors, artists, and dealers founded in 1998 seeking to perpetuate and promote the long-standing relationship between music and graphic art. The 10th anniversary of TRPS was held at the Hall of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. Members of TRPS received a discounted ticket price to the day-long expo where artists, dealers, and collectors gathered to buy, sell, and trade posters. Spusta’s designs are intricate, colorful, and mesmerizing with Wonderland-esque visuals and creatures. This design features a hookah-smoking caterpillar with a swirling of leaves and vines bordering the centered text. Spusta’s signature is to the right of his printed name near the bottom edge in metallic gold ink. Poster: presumed First-&-Only Printing, as is typical for events. Sheet is in Fine-to-Very-Fine with minor bumping to the fine edges and corners and minor creasing to three of the four corners. This item is too delicate to be rolled & must be shipped flat to assure no damage, therefore extra shipping costs will be required. Fine-Very Fine. [Item #6349]
