This number of the literary-art-cultural journal edited by NYC St. Marks Place underground denizen Irving Stettner (1922-2004) features a "20 Page Henry Miller Section" (front cover, pgs. 20-39) with facsimile holograph letters from & to Miller (1891-1980, the great American author & artist whose earlier works were an influence & inspiration to the Beat Generation), facsimile typewritten Miller letters, an article on the theatre (reprinted from a previous issue of Stroker, see our item No. 6334), reproduction of an autographed photograph of Miller with his later companion Brenda Venus, etc. Also in this issue are contributions of poetry & prose by Jack Hirschman (1933-2021), the excessively radical poet, scholar & translator who was nevertheless a key mentor to the members of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s; Mohammed Mrabet, the legendary Moroccan storyteller (translated, as ever, from the Moghrebi language into English by the great Paul Bowles); & many more. A quintessential exemplar of the later Mimeograph Revolution NYC Lower East Side Zine era; an essential collectible from this scarce & significant series- the fifth to continue its emphasis & tribute to Henry Miller after his death the previous year- in its singularly rarest contemporary form. In relatively quite fine-to-very-fine condition with slight rubbing, browning & faint scratching to front, back covers & stapled spine; a touch of wear & some tiny bumps, creases at/from edges & corners of same; light rubbing, browning to edges of text block. Interior fine-very fine with only light browning to inner covers & page leaves (chiefly at blank thin margins/edges); tiny bumps, faint creases at corners of some leaves. Fine- Very Fine.
