This number of the literary-art-cultural journal edited by NYC St. Marks Place underground denizen Irving Stettner is a "Henry Miller Commemorative Issue" (front cover), the first since his passing just-earlier in the year of publication to pay tribute to the great American author & artist whose earlier works were influential & inspiring to the Beat Generation. With a frontispiece photograph of Miller c. 1961; tributes to Miller preceding contents/copyright leaf including a poem by Stettner; Miller's 1973 recollections of his friend the canonical Surrealist Man Ray (pgs. 7-10); transcription of a 1978 letter from Miller to Stettner (pgs. 21-24); Miller's 1943 poem "O Lake of Light" reprinted from an earlier issue (pg. 24); & a brief Miller bibliography (pgs. 25-26). Also in this issue are contributions of prose & poetry including the essay "From CHAOS" by Seymour Krim (1922-1989), the acclaimed Beat journalist & critic; transcriptions of three letters to Stettner with an illustration by the legendary Moroccan storyteller Mohammed Mrabet (translated, as ever, from the Moghrebi language by the great Paul Bowles); & many more. In relatively quite fine-to-very-fine condition with mild rubbing, mild-to-moderate browning & faint scratching to front, back covers & stapled spine; a hint of wear & a few tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners of same; very slight rubbing, browning to edges of text block.
