Windsor, Ontario, Canada: Connexion, 1969. First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. This small press literary journal was published just across the river from Detroit in Windsor, Ontario. The table of contents describes Connexion as “Prose & Poetry for the Mind & Body,” though not much more information is available about the press or its mission. This second issue opens with the poem “Dying” by Joyce Carol Oates (b. 1938), the acclaimed, much-honored & almost supernaturally prolific American author. Also included are poems from Thomas Fitzsimmons, Donald Polson, Richard Hornsey, David Clift, Len Gasparini, Greg Laforest, Andrew Suknaski, J.P. McKeon, & Keith Warne plus a short story by Edward A. Watson. From the collection of Thomas Fitzsimmons (1926-2017), noted American poet, academician & editor, which we have been honored to obtain from his son, Ian Fitzsimmons. Stapled wrappers: first edition, first printing, though neither explicated as such. In fine condition with very minor bumping to the fine edges and corners of front, back covers; minor creasing to the bottom left corner of back cover; very minor scuffing, scratching to back cover; very minor creasing around the spine edges.
