The Wormwood Review Vol. 10 No. 1 (Issue 37, 1970)

Stockton, CA: Wormword Review, 1970. First Limited Edition. Stapled Wrappers. Presented here is Volume 10 number 1 issue 37 of The Wormwood Review edited by Marvin Malone. This issue features some really tasty contributors — the highlight being Charles Bukowski (1920-1994) with his poems “One More Good One. Why Not?” and “Moonlight Ride”. Other notable features include Jack Micheline’s (1929-1988) insert of poems titled “Los Angeles - San Francisco Express”; seventeen micropoems from Gloria Kenison who appears in many of Wormwood Step Stool publications; two poems from American poet and former poetry editor at Chiron Review Gerald Locklin (1941-2021); and poetry from noted American poet, academician & editor Thomas Fitzsimmons (1926-2021). That is just a sliver of this delicacy offered here today, a real rarity among poetry journals with plenty more voices and pieces to explore. From the collection of Thomas Fitzsimmons, which we have been honored to obtain from his son, Ian Fitzsimmons. Stapled wrappers: “The edition of this issue has been limited to 700 numbered copies, and this is copy number 254” as stated at colophon. Chapbook is in fine to very fine condition with some minor markings on front wrapper; minor rubbings on back cover; minor creasing at lower right corner of front cover; and minor toning around edges of front and back wrappers. Fine-Very Fine. [Item #6911]
