We obtained this item from our friends at Better Read Than Dead and can confirm the authenticity of Smith’s signature and previous ownership. The New Jerusalem follows the tradition of John’s Revelation and the poetry of William Blake (1757-1827) and feeds the imagination the possibility of escaping the rituals of power and the mechanisms of social control that shackle us to a perpetuating misery. An incredible book that was published in a bilingual edition (English & Dutch) and is surely a must-have item for any Patti Smith enthusiast.
