Revenge of the Lawn: Stories 1962-1970
ISBN: 0671209604
New York, NY, USA: Simon and Schuster, 1971. First Edition. “My grandmother, in her own way, shines like a beacon down the stormy American past. She was a bootlegger in a little county up in the state of Washington. She was also a handsome woman, close to six feet tall who carried 190 pounds in the grand operatic manner of the early 1900s. And her speciality was bourbon, a little raw but a welcomed refreshment in those Volstead Act days.” (from “Revenge of the Lawn” unpaginated). Presented here is an incredible collection of sixty-two stories by the West Coast Beat Generation author, Richard Brautigan (1935-1984). Many of these stories were originally published as part of other collections or publications like Esquire and Evergreen Review, to name a few, and even features two missing chapters from Trout Fishing in America (1967), "Rembrandt Creek” and “Carthage Sink”. An essential collectible for the Brautigan fanatic.
