This number of the literary-art-cultural journal edited by NYC St. Marks Place underground denizen Irving Stettner (1922-2004) features transcripts of two vintage-1979 letters to Stettner by Henry Miller (1891-1980), the great American author & artist whose earlier works were an influence & inspiration to the Beat Generation, with one of the letters also printed in autograph facsimile (pgs. 28-29); as well as a Miller quotation on pg. 41. Shifreeen & Jackson, C701-702, pg. 830. Also in this issue: The second part of an interview with Julian Beck (1925-1985), the legendary actor, artist & impresario of the experimental Living Theatre, conducted by Mark Ari during May 16, 1984, with loose signature sheet reproducing the first part of the interview from the previous issue No. 32 (pgs. 42-50, with insert between pgs. 42-43); the continuation of an epistolary essay, "From the Nuclear Family to Nuclear war," by the Danish author Suzanne Brogger (b. 1944), translated from the Danish into English by Thomas Teal (pgs. 3-18, with reproduction of artwork by Robert F. Another rich & varied, charmingly do-it-yourself issue in this rare & collectible series that exemplifies the later Mimeograph Revolution NYC Lower East Side Zine era, as usual of particular interest to Miller devotees. In relatively quite very fine condition with only slight rubbing, faint scratching to front, back covers & stapled spine; a touch of wear & a few tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners of same; staples beginning to rust with miniscule interior bleeding; light rubbing & browning to edges of text block. Interior very fine with only a hint of browning to page leaves, chiefly at blank margins/edges; tiny bumps, faint creases at corners & edges of some leaves. Very Fine. [Item #7103]
