New York, NY, USA: Two Worlds Publishing, 1926. Limited First Edition. We are excited to offer the March, 1926 issue of Two Worlds Vol. 1 No. 3. The incredibly rare, short lived literary journal was "a literary quarterly devoted to the increase of the gaiety of nations", published in the 1920s. First published in 1925, Two Worlds only ran until 1927, publishing 8 issues in all in two volumes. A collection of essays, poetry, short fiction, and previews & snippets of novels, Two Worlds was one of the premier literary journals of its day and managed to secure not only monumental literary figures, but also exclusive unpublished works of theirs to feature in each issue. This particular issue features: “An Unnamed Work: (Third Installment)” By James Joyce (1882-1941) Irish novelist, poet, and literary critic (and one of the most beloved writers of all time), this snippet would go on to be published in Finnegans Wake (1939); “On Paul Verlaine” & poetry translated by Arthur Symons (1865-1945), British poet, critic, and translator; poems by Paul Verlaine (1844-1896), French poet; “Creative Evolution” by D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930) English novelist, short story writer, poet, and painter; as well as a number of poems, short fiction and essays by Samuel Roth (1893-1974) American publisher, writer, and editor/publisher of Two Worlds, among many other great contributors!
