These two collections are among the most celebrated in Snyder's oeuvre- Riprap consists of Snyder's own exemplary nature-devoted poems; while Cold Mountain Poems are his translations of poems by Han-shan, a revered ancient Japanese poet. Originally published separately during 1958-1959, these two collections were first issued together by Four Seasons Foundation & edited by the legendary Donald Allen in this edition in 1965. Offered here is the second printing of 1966, chapbook in stapled wrappers with all points in McNeil, A10(b), pg. 18, one of 2000 copies as noted thereon. In relatively very fine condition with only a touch of rubbing, faint scratching to front, back covers & stapled spine; a few tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners of same; staples beginning to rust with miniscule interior bleeding; a bit of rubbing to lower edge of text block. Interior (again relatively) very fine with only several faint creases to blank front endpaper; one faint, thin marking in blue ink at blank area of recto second leaf/title page; tiny bumps, faint creases at corners of some page leaves.
