From Abhorrences: A Chronicle of the 80ies

Boise, ID: Limberlost Press, 1989. Limited Edition. Inscribed, signed & dated by Edward Dorn. A unique piece by Edward Dorn (1929-1999), among the greatest of the Black Mountain School poets along with his colleagues/mentors Robert Creeley, Robert Duncan & Charles Olson. As noted in the colophon, this selection of poems is from the larger collection, Abhorrences, and was released “to commemorate the poet’s return to Idaho for a reading tour in March and April of 1989.” The 150 copies in the printing were handset, letterpressed and handsewn by Rick and Rosemary Ardinger, who have done small runs of poetry collections for decades through Limberlost. Rick Ardinger was a founding member of The Cabin, Boise’s literary arts organization, and also sat on the Idaho Humanities Council. In this selection are five pieces from Abhorrences set in or near the Rockies. While this is not one of 26 copies that were lettered from A-Z and signed by Dorn and illustrator Ray Obermayr, it has been signed, dated & inscribed by Dorn on the half-title page: “For Harold | (signed) Ed Dorn | Pocatello (Idaho) no match | 1989.” From the collection of Dan Rzicznek (b. 1979), an esteemed Ohio poet who is also an academician at Bowling Green State University. Chapbook in sewn wrappers. From a limited edition of 150 as explicated at colophon. In Very Fine condition with only minor bumps and creasing to top corner of back cover. Interior very fine, appearing substantially mint. Very Fine. [Item #7978]
