It shows a literary dialogue across oceans; this piece comes in its original mailing envelope from Sherman in London to Albert Glover, c/o “Institute Further Studies.” Glover (b. 1942), the great American scholar, bibliographer, author & publisher who is the foremost living authority on Charles Olson, was one of the principles behind the Institute of Further Studies, which published and put on events and readings to “further” the study they had done under Olson. This Bill Sherman is presumably the founder of Branch Redd Books; the Philadelphia-born poet lived in England from 1967 to 1982 and taught at Hull and Aberystwyth universities. At recto of blank second leaf, in thick purple cursive ink, Sherman has hand-written & signed “for “mike” | for old times sake | Bill.” “Mike” is an in-joke nickname for Glover used by some of his colleagues. In Very Fine condition with light creasing, scratching, and smudging to front & back covers. Interior Very Fine with only the lightest of creasing.
