The editors might have shown him with a glass eye or wearing a raffish patch; instead, Creeley stares out at us with a wounded, empty left socket. It’s a painful image, and it seems to ask if that half of his vision isn’t the true one, looking – inward? – into nothingness? This issue includes a reprint of an interview with Galway Kinnell, who had recently won the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry at the time of publication. Inside is an advertisement for "Beat Hotel," the novella by Harold Norse with a forward by William S. Burroughs. Also included are other articles, poetry, reviews and the journal’s extensive calendar of California literary events. Broadsheet-format journal in loose sheets folded horizontally & vertically. From the collection of Albert Glover (b. 1942), the great American scholar, bibliographer, author & publisher who is the foremost living authority on Charles Olson (1910-1970). First-&-only printing. In relatively fine condition with mild age-toning to covers and pages; wear and a slight closed tear at the front cover center fold; slight wear, irregularities & some tiny bumps, creases, chips & occasional short, closed tears at edges, corners & folds.
