Started in 1980 by New Yorker and co-author of millennial favorite children's book See You Later Alligator Helen Friedland (1916-2012), this timeless number of the legendary poetry journal chiefly edited by Friedland features three poems "It curls Towards Me," "The Lady and the Mountain Lion," and "Help Wanted and Received" (pgs. 5-9), by Beat-&-Beyond cult favorite Charles Bukowski (1920-1994; Debritto B1422, pg. 351). This issue also has the stand-out poems "Federal Express Poems - #2" (pg. 27) by American poet Kyle Anne Bates (b. 1959), "You, Carmen," "Vincent in August," "Argenteuil: Kind of Blue," "Monet Will Die Blind," and "Erik Satie at the Erwin Ranch, Summer-Fall-Winter, 1987" (pgs. 103-109) by American poet and friend of Bukowski Gerald Locklin (1941-2021); "Caesar's Gallic Wars," "Grey," and "Koertgeville" (pgs. 63-65) by American poet Ron Koertge (b. 1940) & many more. A very significant issue in this always most collectible series, of particular interest to the Bukowski devotee/completist. In relatively fine condition with minor rubbing and age-toning to front, back covers & spine; mild wear/creasing & some tiny bumps at edges & corners of same; minor occasion of spot-staining near center of back cover; minor age-toning and rubbing to edges of text block.
