This vintage twenty-first number of the Los Angeles, California poetry journal edited by Helen Friedland (1916-2012) features two exemplary poems by Charles Bukowski (1920-1994), the legendary cult-favorite poet-denizen of the dive bar & racetrack & famous LA resident: “It” and “Heat Wave” (qtd. above) on pp. 12-13. Also in this issue are contributions of poetry by Gerald Locklin (1941-2021), the noted poet & former editor of Chiron Review who was Bukowski's close friend & colleague, & contributions by numerous others.
