Charles Olson & Ezra Pound: An Encounter at St. Elizabeth's (Two Editions)

New York, NY: Viking Press; Paragon House, 1975; 1991. First Printings. Hardcover; Softcover. Signed by Robin Eichele to John Sinclair. Two editions of Charles Olson & Ezra Pound: An Encounter at St. Elizabeth's, a chronicle of the late & early High Modernists' relationship & clashing at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, D.C. after Ezra Pound (1885-1972) was arrested for treason (for his actions during the Second World War). Pound, being the legacy High Modernist that he was, attracted a stream of visitors to the grounds of St. Elizabeth's, of which the great Charles Olson (1910-1970) was one. This book chronicles their meetings during Pound's time there, and catalogs Olson's reflections on the meetings as they occurred. An essential collectible and major moment in the lives of both American authors. From the collection of scholar, poet and our dear friend Robin Eichele (b. 1941), noted Mimeograph Revolutionary & co-founder (with the late, great John Sinclair [1941-2024]) of the Detroit Artists’ Workshop. [1] Hardcover in unclipped dust jacket: First Edition, though not explicated as such on copyright page; First Printing, with no mention of (or reference to) subsequent printings thereon.
