Niagara Frontier Review (Spring 1966)
Buffalo, NY: Frontier Press, 1965. First Edition. Softcover. “Then Red Vision spoke of the Wild Hunt. / In his grey age Dietrich declining king / Weary of living and bitter from constant trials / Took pleasure only in the hunt. / One morning he walked out / To bathe in the stream at his fields’ edge / Went through the tall summer grass to bathe, / And as he moved in the water / His servant came to him running / Saying that a huge stag grazed in his fields. / Instantly the old man called for horses / And when no servant came he called again / Loudly demanding his mount for the hunt. / Turning, wet from the river, there / Was a black mare waiting for his hand / Restless beside him, by the stream’s edge. / Without waiting the old man scrambled onto her back / Kicked at her sides: She ran off through the long grass / Carrying him quickly and forever from sight.”--Albert Glover, Untitled Poem, pg. 28.
